During the last third of 2024, I spent a lot of time announcing that KOZEN would be taking a pause from live shows. If you weren't at one of our last three shows, this may come as a surprise to you. This video will give you a window into what's been going on, and why this change is happening.
As some of you know, I'm part of a creative collective YouTube channel called “Passionfroot." The team consists of artists - musical, visual, and spoken word - who use their craft as a vehicle for exploring what it means to live a life of purpose. I've been working with them for a little over a year now, and the connections on that team have become some of the most important in my life. Evin Nazya, one of the Passionfroot team members, has even featured on a couple of KOZEN songs.
I've known about this impending change for more or less the same amount of time as I've been involved with Passionfroot - but with time moving steadily ahead, I know that the big day is getting closer and closer. The band will once again be operating “long distance,” just as we did during the creation of our album “A Fearful Wonder.” I am confident, however, that this is not the end of KOZEN. We have plenty of music to share with you and plenty of stories left to tell.
Please do continue to expect more material from us. And trust me when I say that you will see us on stage again, someday.
Thank you for journeying with us over the last nine years.
-Max
